Modern Slavery Policy

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 addresses four activities:

• Slavery - exercising powers of ownership over a person
• Servitude - compelling a person to provide services through coercion
• Forced or compulsory labour - exacting work from a person under threat of penalty, without their voluntary consent
• Human trafficking - arranging or facilitating a person's travel for the purpose of exploitation

Thesis SM has identified its principal areas of risk as:

• Supply chains
• Recruitment through agencies
• General recruitment

Thesis SM thoroughly checks its supply chains to ensure the potential for slavery and human trafficking is significantly reduced. We make clear to every company we do business with that no form of exploitation is acceptable.

All Thesis supplier contracts contain an anti-slavery clause, which flows down through all layers of the supply chain. Thesis maintains visibility of each step of its supply processes and has mechanisms in place to verify who is providing goods and services to the business.

Thesis SM recruits directly. Should we need external support, we only engage with reputable, pre-approved recruitment agencies. Before approval, each agency undergoes background checks and reputation reviews, and must provide assurances that appropriate checks have been carried out on any individual they supply, including verification of the right to work in the UK.  

The Company’s leadership holds overall accountability for putting these procedures into practice. All team members are expected to report any awareness or reasonable suspicion of activities that could involve modern slavery.
