Accessibility Statement
Thesis SM is committed to making the Student Management platform accessible to all users.
Accessibility is essential to an inclusive, equitable, and effective digital service for students, staff, and administrators across the UK, Ireland, Canada, and the other markets in which we operate.
We treat accessibility as a core quality attribute of the product, and are committed to fully meet our target standard of WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
We design, build, test, and operate the platform so it can be used by the widest possible audience, regardless of ability, technology, or environment. We treat accessibility as a core quality attribute of the product, and we are transparent about the parts of the platform that do not yet fully meet our target standard.

This statement applies to the Thesis Student Management platform:
- The Student Self Service Portal - the student-facing web experience used by applicants and enrolled students
- The Administrative Interface - the staff-facing web application used by the institution
It does not cover third-party integrations, plug-ins, or external services outside our direct control, or content that customers author or configure within the platform, which is the responsibility of the institution deploying Thesis Student Management.
The platform has been assessed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the internationally recognised standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that underpins accessibility legislation in the UK, Ireland, Canada, and the EU.
The Student Portal is conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Our most recent self-assessment was completed on 8 January 2026, and we are not currently aware of any areas of the Student Portal that fail to meet the standard. If you encounter an accessibility issue, please contact us using the details below.

The administrative interface, used by institution staff, administrators, and academic users, has alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
What Level AA means
Conformance at WCAG 2.2 Level AA covers requirements grouped under four principles:
Text alternatives for non-text content, sufficient colour contrast, and adaptable presentation
Keyboard navigation, sufficient time to interact, and no seizure-inducing content
Consistent navigation, clear labels, and error prevention
Compatibility with current and future assistive technologies
Ongoing improvement
We do not view accessibility as a one-time exercise. We are committed to:
Reviewing the platform against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria at least annually
Monitoring updates to accessibility standards and legislation in the UK, Ireland, Canada, and other markets we serve, and implementing required changes in line with published timescales
Embedding accessibility requirements into design, development, and quality assurance, so new features are designed and reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA before release
Conducting periodic independent accessibility audits to supplement internal testing
